The Honfleur The Style Outlets, the outlet centre developed by MAB Development and Neinver urban planner-architect Edouard François, has been awarded the 2010 award in the best project category at the Magdus conference, the European meeting on factory outlet centres.
Magdus, the European economic research institute for factory outlet centres, held its conference on 7-8 April 2010 in Troyes. Magdus' aim is to conduct research into changing concepts of Europe's factory outlets centres, providing news, key figures, interviews with experts, economic studies, etc. Every two years, Magdus awards its trophies to European factory outlet centres players whose success or initiatives are judged exemplary by the entire industry.
MAB Development, one of the leading European property developers specialised in commercial real estate and multifunctional inner-city projects, carries the responsibility for development and project management of the 15,200-m2 Honfleur outlet centre in Normandy, France. Neinver, Europe's 2nd largest factory outlet operator, is doing the leasing and will be the operator of this project, bringing together around a hundred brand outlet shops and services, selling a mid-to-high end offer all year round at prices at least 30% lower than those of traditional distribution channels.
Edouard François, urban planner and architect, is recognised for his work as an architect and landscaper, and in particular for his environmental commitment. Once completed in 2012, Honfleur The Style Outlets will meet the needs of the town of Honfleur, the department of Calvados and the Lower Normandy region regarding economic development, tourism and preservation of the environment.
