Maarsen Groep, the Amsterdam-based real estate investor behind eye-catching developments such as the 'Hourglass' and 'Cubes', has placed on the market one of its latest projects under construction.
Sources say the 54,431 m² Modernist mixed-use development in Rotterdam is being marketed to investors just weeks after Provast announced the sale of mixed-use scheme, Tree House, opposite the Modernist at Rotterdam Central Station to ASR Real Estate’s Dutch Mobility Office Fund.
The Modernist is a new mixed-use tower complex that includes 16,500 m² of office and commercial space and 35,500 m² of residential floorspace. Parts of the project are still under construction.
Rotterdam – and the Netherlands in general - continues to attract international capital as a hotbed of residential investment.
In December 2020, TB Projects sold one of the prestigious Lee Towers to Swiss Life Asset Managers. The towers used to be offices but were converted to residential use in 2019 having undergone a thorough renovation.
In that instance, Swiss Life acquired the residential tower for its open-ended real estate fund, Swiss Life REF (DE) European Real Estate Living and Working, and the Swiss Life European Living fund, which was distributed by Germany’s Deka.
