London-based M7 Real Estate has appointed John Murnaghan to oversee relations with its joint venture partners and to develop the company’s third-party investment management business in the UK.
Murnaghan joins M7 from UBS Global Real Estate, where he was lead asset manager for the UK property team and one of the portfolio managers of the Triton Property Fund. Prior to joining UBS in 2007, he spent six years as a senior asset manager in the corporate real estate group at Land Securities Trillium.
Founded in 2009, M7 specialises in buying and managing light industrial properties across Europe. The company has more than doubled its staff to 58 people in the past year as it opened offices in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Glasgow and Warsaw. The expansion stems from the joint ventures it has formed with HIG Capital, Oaktree Capital Management and Starwood Capital Group to invest in continental European markets.
MStar Europe, M7’s recently established joint venture with Starwood Capital, announced on Monday that it has acquired 55 light industrial properties in five European countries for close to €259 mln.
