M7 Real Estate, the pan-European investor and asset manager, has expanded into Spain, opening its first office in Madrid and appointing Alvaro Arteaga Biforcos as managing director, Spain.
The launch expands M7’s network to 16 offices operating across 14 countries in Europe.
Arteaga Biforcos, who will be responsible for leading new business initiatives in Spain on behalf of M7, has 18 years’ experience in real estate, most recently working for a pan-European family office as country manager for Spain.
David Ebbrell, chief executive of M7, said: 'Alvaro’s extensive experience and leadership qualities will be key to developing our operations in Spain.
'I look forward to working with him as we establish our presence and grow our business there, leveraging our wider European platform which comprises an extensive portfolio of predominantly multi-let industrial and offices assets.'
Arteaga Biforcos began his career at PwC and has also worked at Grupo Lar Grosvenor, setting up their industrial department and overseeing the development of seven industrial business parks with a total turnover of €100 mln. Following this he also became responsible for the Grupo Lar’s office business unit.
He later worked for Pincasa, a residential and industrial developer, and Aktua-Intrum where he managed a tertiary portfolio.
'Spain is the fourth largest European country in terms of GDP and population and we believe that there are good opportunities to acquire and manage assets not only in Madrid and Barcelona but also in other regions such as Malaga, Pais Vasco, Valencia and Seville,' Ebbrell added.
Arteaga Biforcos said: 'I am very excited to have this opportunity to establish M7’s presence initially in Madrid and build the business’ operations and portfolio in Spain. Our focus will be on acquiring industrial and logistics units as well as office buildings for our clients and delivering performance though active asset management.'
