Pan-European investor M7 Real Estate is continuing to expand its European platform with the opening of an office in Helsinki and the appointment of Joona Suomela as country manager for Finland.
The move follows the recent €80 mln investment in the region on behalf of M7 European Real Estate Investment Parters IV (EREIP IV), bringing M7's AUM in the Nordics to around €286 mln.
'As a part of M7’s ongoing expansion across Europe, our new office in Helsinki will further strengthen M7’s footprint in the Nordics,' commented Mette Seifert, managing director of M7 Denmark & head of Nordics.
In addition, Tuomas Hulkkonen has been appointed as an asset manager for M7 Finland. Hulkkonen joined from Newsec, the largest specialised commercial property firm in the Nordics, where he worked as an account manager.
'We have been active in Denmark since 2013 and Finland is the natural next step following the increased focus on the region from M7's capital partners, as well as new investment strategies, sectors and third-party asset management mandates,' added Seifert.
Suomela, who will be tasked with building M7’s Finnish operations, brings more than 13 years experience in the real estate sector to his new role, most recently at investment services company Elite Varainhoito where he was head of real estate investment management. Prior to this he worked at Quorum Fund Management and at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers.
