Laegernes Pensionskasse (LP), the Danish Doctors' Pension Fund, has disclosed a 56.4% return on its real estate investments last year, publication IPE Real Estate reported. The fund said the result was due to 'good developments in all the pension fund's property investments.'
Noting the rises in residential property prices in Greater Copenhagen and the large Danish towns, LP said it is planning to reduce its holdings in this type of asset, while focusing on international real estate. 'Real estate will continue to form a significant part of the pension fund's investment strategy, but the aim is to transform the property portfolio from one that is now generally purely Danish into an internationally diversified property portfolio.' Investments in foreign property will be made indirectly via property funds, it said.
