Louvre Hotels Group has doubled its presence in Germany with the acquisition of a 25-asset portfolio from Nordic Hotels.

The hotels are spread across 11 cities with a total capacity of 1,816 rooms. The transaction also includes a management platform based in Kiel, creating a hub for Louvre Hotels Group in Germany.

The investment volume of the transaction was not disclosed.

The deal comes a few months after Louvre Hotels Group – the second largest European hospitality group – rebranded nine Motel One budget design hotels in Germany under Louvre's Première Classe brand.

Of the 25 hotels, 23 are open and operating while two are under construction and due to open in 2016. Eight of the mainly unbranded hotels are rated 4-star, 15 as 3-star and two as 2-star.

Louvre Hotels has about 1,100 hotels in 47 countries. Its portfolio, split between six brands, comprises some 93,000 rooms.
