The general contractor Litana is starting construction on a new district shopping centre in the Lithuanian seaport city of Klaipeda.
The project is managed by Zabolis Partners, an investment banking and private equity firm.
Zabolis said the 4,000m2 project would bring a new Rimi supermarket to Lithuania's third biggest city and house some 20 other retailers to supply local residents. The opening of the shopping centre is scheduled for December 2009.
Nordea is financing the development, which is owned by a real estate group in which the Rakauskas family and Zabolis Partners jointly participate.
