Limehome, a hospitality technology provider and operator of fully digitalised design flats, is expanding into Portugal having signed a construction contract in the country.

The firm will deliver 14 single flats, suites and 3-bedroom suites with terraces and views of the Douro River, the Luis I Bridge and other landmarks such as the 16th century Serra do Pilar Monastery, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, at Porto.

Munuch-based Limehome said it was working with developer, Ratisbona.

Ricky Bichel, head of international expansion, said: ‘Portugal has become an international destination. We receive many enquiries from investors, family offices and investment funds who are therefore watching Portugal as well as Southern Europe with interest.’

‘Lisbon and Porto are definitely key cities in our European growth strategy.'

In 2020, the firm annnounced increased investment of €21 mln from pre-exisitng backers led by Lakestar, as well as HV Holtzbrinck Ventures, and Picus Capital. It was founded in 2018. 

The firm says it aims to run its living platform like a hotel company using online booking services.
