Lieder founded IC with Rolf Engel/MMI GmbH in 2011, and has been responsible for building and leading the team which has completed over 11,000 units of student housing projects to date.

'After growing International Campus into the established business it is today and having recently secured Brookfield as a partner to pursue our ambitious growth plan, the time is now right for me to transition to a new role,' Lieder said.

'I would like to thank the team for their support and commitment, and I look forward to using the freedom gained through the delivery of day-to-day operations to focus on the strategic development of the company.'

Lieder will remain as a shareholder and continue to be involved in the company as a member of the board of directors at IC holding level.

'Horst has spent the last seven years building International Campus into the successful business model that Brookfield was attracted to. We thank Horst for his dedication and leadership and we look forward to benefiting from his experience in the context of his new role as we move into the next phase of the company’s growth,' said Zach Vaughan, managing partner and head of Brookfield’s Real Estate activities in Europe.

Engel will continue in his roles of member of the board of directors, CEO of IC Luxembourg and head of IC Group's funds business, continuing to manage the company's funds and investor relationships.
