Fashion House Development, part of the Belgian group Liebrecht & Wood, has started construction of Indjija Retail Park, Serbia's first retail outlet development. The company said that it will invest around EUR 30 mln in the construction of the scheme, which is located between Serbia's capital, Belgrade and its second city, Novi Sad.

Due to open to the public in early 2011, Outlet Centre Indjija will offer 30,000 m2 of retail development in two stages. Phase I will comprise 15,000 m2 of retail accomodation across 55 units and a total of 2,000 parking spaces. The park will also be home to a non-competitive retail box area, an office park and a hotel, all set in a village design.

'Introducing the outlet concept in a new marketplace is one of our areas of expertise and something we have successfully done in several markets,' said Brendon O'Reilly, Director of Fashion House Development. 'We were the first outlet operator in Romania and Poland and are currently developing the first outlet centres in Russia, thus proving that we are a leading name in this sector in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).'

'Through this project we want to reinsure all our business partners that we are a solid business in constant development,' added Johan Rogiers, managing director Liebrecht & Wood.
