Icelandic property company Landic VI has divested a portfolio of 44 properties across Sweden for a total of some SEK 2.3 bn (EUR 235 mln), in the country's largest property transaction since 2008. The buyer is Hemfosa Fastigheter, which has been in negotiations to acquire the portfolio since last summer.

The properties are located in Luleå, Skellefteå, Umeå, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Södertälje and Västerås. Telephone company Telia and state-owned electricity group Vattenfall are among the largest tenants.
Landic VI put the properties on the market in August last year as part of a restructuring of its portfolio. The company received a number of bids and Hemfosa managed to get to the final stage of bidding. The company was advised by Catella and its partner Anders Palmgren on the process.
'We were able to contribute property and financing expertise, as well as expertise in restructuring and capital markets, in addition to our excellent market knowledge,' said Erik Westerlund of Catella Corporate Finance. 'In the next stage, we will assist Hemfosa in drawing up business plans,' he added.
