Developer Keen Property Partners Retail (KPP Retail) said its Galeria Victoria entertainment and retail centre in the Polish city of Walbrzych is almost 75% leased. The announcement was made during the 15th edition of the Mapic international retail real estate fair in Cannes, France.
KPP Retail has announced that fashion chain New Yorker has signed a contract to lease over 1,500 m2 on the ground floor of Galeria Victoria. The construction of the mall started in February 2009, and the opening is planned for summer 2010.
'We are very glad that we can announce that Galeria Victoria is almost 75% leased during this edition of Mapic. This news is the best proof that Galeria Victoria is proving a very attractive location for leading retail brands,' said Richard Keen, managing director of Keen Property Partners. 'Tenants already on board at Galeria Victoria include 62 well-know Polish and international brands, many of which will open their first shops in Walbrzych in Galeria Victoria.'
Galeria Victoria will be the first modern retail, entertainment, residential and hotel complex in Walbrzych and the surrounding region, bringing the first multiplex cinema, restaurants and coffee shops and several Polish and international retail brands to the city for the first time. The two-storey shopping complex will house a Carrefour hypermarket (4,800 m2) and approximately 180 shops.
CB Richard Ellis is acting as investment and leasing adviser, and is responsible for leasing the mall.
