Businesswoman Alicia Koplowitz has invested some EUR 71 mln to acquire shares in Spain's Colonial lifting her stake to 9%. Koplowitz, who is said to be Spain's richest woman, acquired some 22 million new shares during the capital increase carried out by Colonial last week. Koplowitz's total interest in Colonial is valued at EUR 563 mln at current market price, newspaper Bolsa Cinco reported.

On Monday, Spanish stock market regulator CNMV said that Colonial's head Luis Portillo had invested some EUR 314 mln in Colonial shares, upping his stake to 40% of the group. The capital increase by the company is aimed at financing the EUR 2 bn acquisition of shopping mall developer Riofisa.
