Jan Willem Weissink is stepping down as CEO of Klépierre's Dutch business at the end of the year.
His departure follows the slimming down of the group's Dutch shopping centre holdings to concentrate on five large schemes.
Klépierre, the Paris-listed shopping centre owner, inherited 57 schemes across Europe, including 14 in the Netherlands, when it took over Amsterdam-based peer Corio in March this year. Three months later Klépierre - which focuses on dominant schemes - sold nine mid-sized shopping centres from the Corio portfolio to Wereldhave, another Amsterdam-listed property company, for about €770 mln.
‘Now the integration of the former Corio organisation into Klépierre has been carried out successfully and the disposal of 9 shopping centres has been completed, it is a logical moment for me to pursue a career elsewhere and to hand over the helm to a new leader,' Weissink said in a statement. 'I am confident that Klépierre is poised for a promising future with great shopping centres like Alexandrium and the redeveloped Hoog Catharijne, which will become a jewel in the crown of Klépierre’s portfolio,' he added.
