French listed retail specialist Klepierre saw shopping centre rental revenue climb 4.9% to €236.4 mln during the first three months of 2013.
The increase was fuelled by the successful opening of three new retail outlets during 2012, including the flagship Emporia outlet in Malmo, Sweden. On a like-for-like basis, shopping centre rents for the first quarter of 2013 rose 2.3%.
The Paris-based REIT said total revenues rose to €272.7 mln during Q1, a year-on-year rise of 2.9%. The first-quarter statement also saw Klepierre confirm the disposal of two shopping centres for a pre-tax sum of €61.1 mln.
Klepierre reiterated its forecast that earnings per share will increase by between 2% and 2.5% across 2013 as a whole. The group also expects rents across its real estate portfolio to rise by some 2%.
