According to a CBRE press release, both will cease managing business operations at the end of July. At CBRE’s request they will continue to provide consultancy to the company and focus on servicing clients until January 2025 to ensure a smooth transition.

Kai Mende, CEO of CBRE’s advisory services business in Germany & city lead of Berlin, who has over 25 years of real estate experience in the capital markets sector, will take on the management of the capital markets team on an interim basis in addition to his existing roles.

Klein started in 2002 as managing director / head of investment Germany for CBRE and built up the then non-existent capital markets division together with his team.

The team is today successfully positioned in all major locations and all asset classes as well as in debt and equity, the firm said.

Schreppel also started in 2002 as managing director / head of international investment for CBRE in Germany.

In March 2011, he was appointed CEO in Germany until he returned to his previous role as head of iInternational investment at his own request in April 2016 after five successful years.

He was also a member of the European executive committee from 2011 to 2016. From December 2023 to April 2024, he served as interim CEO in addition to his current role.

Said Mende: 'We would like to thank Peter Schreppel and Fabian Klein for their many years of successful collaboration and for everything they have done for our company.

'They are two experienced colleagues and German board members, who are highly respected by us, our colleagues and clients. With their extraordinary commitment, both have played a major role in the growth and success of the entire company. We respect their decision and wish them both all the best and much success for their personal and professional future.'
