Private equity fund KKR is preparing a bid for ING REIM, according to media reports. Vornado Realty Trust and Apollo Global Management are also believed to be interested in acquiring the Dutch fund manager.

A spokeperson for ING Group declined to comment on the rumours, but said that ING was 'currently evaluating' ING REIM's position. At the presentation of ING's first-half figures in July, CEO Jan Hommen said that the group aimed to find a solution for ING REIM and the development arm ING RED by the end of the year.

Hommen said that ING is working with an external adviser to evaluate possible scenarios for the EUR 67 bn real estate investment management business, including a sell-off.
