The Spanish young fashion chain store company Desigual has kicked off its expansion into Germany at Berlin's prime location Tauentzienstrasse 14. Real estate adviser Kemper's Jones Lang LaSalle said the fashion labels new flagship store is at the former location of Appelrath&Cüpper.

The opening of the 1,700 m2 store is to take place at the beginning of July in the course of the fashion fair Bread&Butter. Kemper’s Jones Lang LaSalle carried on negotiations with Desigual concerning the lease process and advised them regarding their expansion.

Andreas Kogge, CEO of Kemper’s Jones Lang LaSalle Berlin: 'Again the Tauentzienstrasse proves its attractiveness especially for international concepts. The bohemian and young label Desigual entirely enriches German fashion.'

Desigual was founded in 1984 and is well-known for its bohemian, colourful designs and accessories for ladies, men and children. The label terminated its fiscal year 2008 with a turnover increase of 75 percent and achieved a turnover of EUR 150 mln.

Following more than 50 shop openings in 2008, Desigual was also able to raise its number of shops to 100, of which 17 are located abroad.
