The KanAm Grund European Cities fund has acquired office buildings in the City of London and the French city of Lyon, as well as a hotel in Antwerp, Belgium.
The London investment is an office building at 30 Moorgate (pictured), between Moorgate and Bank underground stations. The building was completely refurbished this year and is located about 180 m far from the new Moorgate station, scheduled to be completed in 2019. The building is under long-term lease to Regus, a global flexible office space provider.
In Lyon, France's third biggest city, KanAm has acquired the building "Le Quadrille" located in the 8th Arrondissement, on the Avenue Jean Mermoz. It is one of the few centrally located office blocks of the city, approximately 10 minutes from the TGV station "La Part-Dieu". Built in 2009, "Le Quadrille" is formed by two self-contained six-storey buildings. The lettable area of the entire property is currently rented by 14 different parties, and used as offices and medical space.
The area is in fact one of the largest centres for medical schools and hospitals in Europe. It is home to seven private and public hospitals and about 50 doctors’ surgeries, in addition to various healthcare companies, institutes of further medical education, and the University Lyon 1 School of Medicine.
In the Belgian city of Antwerp, the fund purchased an NH Collection Hotel in Pelikaanstraat 80-90. The 186-room building, which is due to be completed next year, is located in front of the southern exit of the city’s main station. Antwerp is home to one of the largest European ports, and is known as one of the leading centres of the global diamond trade.
