Sarah Bellagha has joined as senior renewables investment manager to focus on the growth of Kajima’s nascent renewables business, and in particular M&A activities across the UK and Europe.

She has joined having been with Alpha Real Capital, where she led and closed UK investments in both greenfield and brownfield projects.

Prior to that, she worked at Ingenious Group as a senior investment associate, managing its portfolio of Anaerobic Digestion assets.

Her experience includes closing a €20 mln solar farm in England, and a €20 mln portfolio of subsidised operating wind farms in Northern Ireland.

Kajima’s renewables business launched in 2021 with the acquisition of Polish clean energy developer PAD RES, in partnership with Griffin Real Estate.

This was closely followed by the launch of a UK joint venture, Taiyo, in partnership with sustainability consultant Low Carbon Alliance.

Current projects in the UK include solar farms in East Devon and South Wales, and a fully funded roof-top solar offering for the UK public and private sector.

The business is also delivering a number of solar and wind developments in Poland.

Chris Gill, investment director and head of renewables said: ‘Sarah’s breadth of experience will bolster Kajima’s capacity to continue growing our pipeline of renewables projects, at an exciting time for the business.’

‘This is also a critical moment for the renewable energy sector, as the need to transition to secure, clean energy has never been clearer.’
