Real estate investor, developer, and manager Kajima Europe has divested a 40,000 m² logistics asset in Ridderkerk, near Rotterdam, to MEAG.
The Ridderkerk logistics facility boasts excellent connectivity, situated 15 km from the Port of Rotterdam and offering easy motorway access (A15 and A16) to Schiphol Airport, the German border, and Antwerp. It was fully pre-leased to a Japanese multimedia company before its October 2024 completion.
Built to BREEAM Excellent standards and aligned with the EU Taxonomy, the sustainable facility features on-site solar power generation.
Lucas Kester, senior investment manager at Kajima, commented: ‘This project showcases our ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable logistics assets in strategic locations. The successful sale underlines the continued strength of the core logistics market, even in challenging economic conditions.’
Kajima acquired the development in 2020, which includes a warehouse, office, and mezzanine facility.
This Ridderkerk project is the first of three Dutch logistics developments for Kajima, in addition to those in Tilburg and Heerlen, reflecting the company’s wider expansion in Western Europe. The company manages over 2 million m² of logistics space across seven countries.
