Broker JLL has appointed Microsoft’s Italian COO Barbara Cominelli as new head of Italy, to reinforce the group’s positioning as a leader in the real estate sector for its technological approach and data-driven focus.
Former CEO Pierre Marin will take on a chairman of the board and senior advisory role, and will be responsible for the management of strategic customers and for business development.
Cominelli, who will be starting next month, comes from Microsoft Italy where, as COO, marketing and operations director, she led the company's growth strategy. Prior to Microsoft, Barbara was director of Digital, Commercial Operations and Wholesale at Vodafone Italia, where at the helm of a team of 3,000 people she consolidated the company's transformation strategy by focusing on digital innovation.
Benoit du Passage, managing director of Southern Europe & Middle-East, Turkey and Africa Regions said: ‘With Barbara Cominelli we have been able to attract a prominent leader active in a sector other than real estate. We are pleased to have with us a professional of the caliber of Barbara, who we are sure will be decisive in our journey towards the consolidation of JLL as a leader in technological approach and data-driven focus in the real estate sector, and in driving the growth of our business in the Italian market.
