JLL has appointed Alexander Nuyken as head of life sciences markets in EMEA to further strengthen and build out its growing EMEA life sciences practice.
Based in Frankfurt, Nuyken's appointment follows the recent announcement of Alistair Meadows as head of life sciences, capital markets EMEA, and Andy Glasspool as head of life sciences accounts for EMEA Work Dynamics.
The three leaders will collectively further strengthen and deliver JLL’s best-in-class life science sector offer for investors and corporate occupier clients in the region.
Andy Poppink, CEO, EMEA Markets, JLL said: 'Life sciences industry momentum has been building. With the strong market in the UK as validation, our clients are now looking at the broader EMEA region as an opportunity and priority.
'We’re excited to welcome Alex as he bolsters our sector expertise. Alongside his JLL partners, Alex will help drive continued growth and provide expert advice to our clients.'
Nuyken brings nearly two decades of experience in the life science and health sectors. He is the former head of Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) life science strategy and transactions at global consultancy Ernst & Young, where he led portfolio strategy assignments and M&A projects for clients in the region.
Prior to that, he worked in M&A investment banking, most recently at investment bank UBS, leading clients in the pharmaceutical, consumer health and medical technology sectors.
Said Nuyken: 'The focus on the life sciences industry has never been greater by investors and corporate occupiers alike - there’s real high-value growth and opportunity ahead in the EMEA market.
'I am delighted to join an already well-established team and I am excited about driving growth and helping clients shape their portfolios and strategies as the market evolves and opportunities arise in this region.'
Glasspool, Meadows and Nuyken add collective weight to JLL's global life sciences team that includes Chris Walters, head of life sciences in the UK, Travis McCready, head of life sciences markets in the Americas and Roger Humphrey, division president, life sciences in the Americas for Work Dynamics.
