The Portuguese-based retailer will create 5,000 jobs from the Portuguese store openings, which include 60 Pingo Doce supermarkets and 25-30 Feria Nova stores, the newspaper said.
The group reported sales of EUR 4.4 bn in 2006, a 15.2% more than 2005. In Poland, its Biedronka sales are expected to have increased by 25.1% up to EUR 1.69 bn in 2006.
