The spokesman declined to give a reason for Lapushner's departure, but German media reports say he is leaving to set up his own investment funds.

Lapushner joined Morgan Stanley in May 2006 from Credit Suisse, where he ran the firm's real estate lending operations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Central Europe.
