Coppola, one of Italy's most powerful entrepreneurs, fell from grace earlier this year after accusations of money-laundering and fraud. The Italian businessman, who ended up in jail in March, had offered EUR 69 mln for the hotel about a year ago.

Batani, owner of 11 hotels in Italy, has committed himself to the relaunch 'in great style' of the hotel, Il Sole 24 Ore said.
