Parknasilla opened as a Railway Hotel in 1895. Down through the years its guest list has included Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, French President Charles de Gaulle and Princess Grace and Prince Rainier of Monaco.

Tifco Hotels has managed the resort since July 2010 although the property can be acquired free of the management contract.

Tom Barrett, head of hotels & leisure at Savills Ireland: 'Parknasilla presents a great opportunity for an investor to acquire an internationally recognised hotel located on one of Ireland’s major tourist attractions, the Ring of Kerry. The luxury resort is located on the spectacular Kerry coast with an extensive shoreline onto Kenmare Bay and an impressive mountain backdrop.'
