Irish property developers Sean Mulryan and Sean Dunne are planning to build a shopping mall in Greystones, Co Wicklow to rival the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in west Dublin, one of the largest shopping centres in Ireland, according to the Sunday Business Post newspaper.

The Irish newspaper said the mall would be built on a 32-hectare site in the Charlesland district as part of a major new development that industry sources say could be worth up to EUR 1.5 bn on completion. The plans include a 41,000 m2 shopping centre, nine retail warehouse units comprising 20,000 m2, 32,000 m2 of office space and 3,700 m2 of parking space, five motor showrooms, a 260 homes and various retail units. The scheme also includes a school and a police station. The local council has yet to approve the plan.
The Sunday Business Post said Mulryan and Dunne are selling a smaller shopping centre in Charlesland for EUR 30 mln. Mulryan owns Ballymore Properties, which has projects worth EUR 22 bn at the planning stage or under construction.
