Only now with the development of global property investment businesses can European investors examine real outcomes of the global strategies they have been mulling in recent years, according to the property index provider IPD. Expanding from its own European focus, the IPD has said its 9th European Property Investment conference will have truly global horizons.

The conference at Hotel President Wilson in Geneva on May 9-11 will include presentations from a renowned real estate tycoon and a leading world economist, IPD said in a statement. Neither of the speakers was identified by name. The event will be chaired by Piet Eichholtz, professor of Real Estate Finance at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

Some of the issues to be discussed at the conference include: how close are we to a truly global economic village and what does this mean for real estate?; What is the reality of risks and returns from property investment around the globe?; How global is real estate in terms of investment capital flows?
