Former Great Portland Estates Neil Thompson and Ben Chambers to lead the business.
Dartriver London, the property firm set up last year by former GPE directors Neil Thompson and Ben Chambers, is joining forces with German firms Conren Land and Indigo Invest to build up a £1 bn (€1.15 bn) development and investment portfolio in the UK.
The new joint venture company, known as CLI Dartriver, will be run by the two UK executives who have worked together at GPE for over a decade.
‘This is a transformational step for our business, it provides substantial firepower for us to execute our active approach to investment and development in London,’ commented Neil Thompson. ‘Conren Land and Indigo are ideal partners for us. Together we will invest on behalf of significant private capital, focusing on the long-term strengths of the London market. London is adapting to new market conditions with an ever-broadening occupier base and sustained demand for investment opportunities.’
Indigo Invest is an independent German Real Estate investment company which has invested extensively in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands and entered the London market in 2016. Going forward its London business will be exclusively via CLI Dartriver.
David Gibson, previously managing director of Indigo Invest UK, will now retire.
Conren Land is a German investment manager which has implemented numerous investment programs for private investors and institutional capital and has executed more than €1 bn of transactions in the past two years in Spain and Germany.
Neil Thompson added: ‘This commitment from Conren Land and Indigo Invest is a tremendous endorsement for the UK and London in particular. We are looking forward to building the new business venture together.’
