Financial expert Janz has worked for IntReal as head of treasury since 2020, and now sees private debt responsibilities added to his role.

The appointment reflects the fact that the company’s subsidiary IntReal Luxembourg is now working across the infrastructure and private debt segments, as well as umbrella funds and real estate funds.

Prior to IntReal, Janz spent eleven years with KanAm Grund Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft as head of financing and treasury. Prior to that, he worked for various German and international banks after starting his professional career in 1989.

Camille Dufieux, IntReal managing director, said: 'For our existing and potential fund partners, the subject of private debt has kept gaining in significance since the interest rate reversal in 2022.

'The present and future funding environment in the commercial real estate market is defined by a noticeably more restrictive and selective lending policy on the part of banks. This makes it reasonable to expect a massive refinancing gap to open up in Europe’s commercial real estate market.

'We believe that the changed market and interest environments will help establish real estate private debt more and more as an alternative and supplementary form of financing for asset managers, and as an investment opportunity for real estate market players.'

Rudolf Kömen, conducting officer of IntReal Luxembourg., added: 'With its offer to launch and administrate private debt funds in the real estate and infrastructure segments via its fully licensed Luxembourg subsidiary, IntReal gives its clients a chance to participate in emerging market developments.

'Expanding our service platform in Luxembourg to include the private debt asset class helps us focus even more strongly on our international business as an AIFM and central administrator. Meanwhile, we assisted our first fund partner in the launch of a private debt fund, with others to follow soon.'
