Fennia Mutual Insurance Company has acquired Joensuu Shopping Centre in Finland from YIT Construction. The total value of the agreement is EUR 25.5 mln.

Fennia Mutual Insurance Company has acquired Joensuu Shopping Centre in Finland from YIT Construction. The total value of the agreement is EUR 25.5 mln.

The shopping centre, with a floor area of approximately 15,000 m2, is located in the centre of Joensuu, and its tenants include an Anttila department store, K-Supermarket, KappAhl, Dressmann and Alko. A general overhaul and extension of the Joensuu Shopping Centre were completed in late 2008.

YIT said it had cancelled an agreement made in 2008 with a Danish real estate investor on the sale of Joensuu Shopping Centre.

The city of Joensuu is capital of the North Karelia Region in Finland. Joensuu is located next to the Russian border and about 400 km North-East from the capital of the country.
