INREV, the European Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles, has appointed Patrick Kanters as its new chairman, replacing Michael Morgenroth who is
stepping down following his recent appointment to the board of Austrian real estate fund manager Signa Group.

Kanters, who is managing director of global real estate at APG Asset Management, will take over as chairman at INREV’s annual general meeting on 24 April in Vienna. The appointment follows a unanimous nomination by INREV’s management board and continues the tradition of selecting an investor for this role.

At APG, Kanters is responsible for all global real estate investments in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific. Prior to joining AGP in 2005, he spent 11 years with ING Real Estate, most notably as managing director of the investment management department.

Kanters is a member of the executive board of EPRA and sits on the board of Scandinavian shopping centre investor Steen & Strom.
