ING is close to acquiring two shopping centres in Italy, newspaper Quotidiano Immobiliare reported last week. The Dutch financial giant is reportedly competing with Henderson for the two retail properties. The assets are being sold by a real estate fund owned by Schroders. They include 'Le Vele', the largest shopping centre on the island of Sardinia, and the Fiumara shopping centre near Genoa. The paper added that the transaction value is estimated at about EUR 400 mln.
