ING Real Estate started the project in 2002 as part of a public private partnership (PPP) with the city of Genk, in the Belgian province of Limburg. The total plan comprises the retail area, 99 apartments, a 4-star hotel to be operated by the Different Hotel group. The 752 parking spaces have been sold to Q-park. The city of Genk is taking care of the construction of a new public library and the squares Stadsplein, Sint-Martinusplein and the Big Square.

The retail scheme and the underground parking are due to open on October 25, 2007. The rest will follow in April 2008.
