Philadelphia-based ING Clarion Real Estate Securities claimed the top spot ahead of five rivals. The shortlists were based on data from Mercer Investment Consulting's performance analytics and performance over three years to the end of June 2007. The second round of judging was based on award submissions from the shortlisted firms. The award was presented at a gala lunch held in London recently.

ING Real Estate was recently named top manager in terms of total assets invested in real estate for the fourth year running by US publication Pensions and Investments. The company's total assets under management increased by 38% to $114.6 bn.
