Austria's Erste Group Immorent has unveiled plans to develop nearly 150,000 m2 of new logistics and distribution space in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Immorent, the property arm of the Erste banking group, said it has been granted the construction permit for the Immopark Praha distribution centre in the Czech capital.
The 131,000 m2 centre will be built in several stages on a land plot of 341,000 m2 and will consist of seven halls suitable for logistics, distribution, storage and light production.
'We are responding to an ever increasing demand for high-quality storage and production properties in our core central European markets,' commented Richard Wilkinson, CEO of Erste Group Immorent.
The project follows the construction of Immopark Zagreb as one of the largest logistics centres in Croatia and Immopark Kosice, in Slovakia’s second largest city. Here, plans are to expand the centre by additional hall of 17,500 m2.
Immopark Košice offers more than 250,000 m2 of logistics, industrial and office space with tenants including Dachser, Faurencia and Raben. Automotive supplier Valeo has also recently signed an agreement to expand its Slovak branch at the park.
