Immochan, the real estate subsidiary of Grupo Auchan, intends to invest EUR 50 mln in Alegro Alfragide shopping centre. The project consists of renovating the Jumbo supermarket, opened in 1988. Completion is due for the end of 2007. The project covers an area of 109,000 m[sup]2[/sup] and includes 1,700 parking spaces.

Completion is due for the end of 2007. The project covers an area of 109,000 m2 and includes 1,700 parking spaces.
The shopping centre will consist of 140 retail stores, a six or eight-screen cinema and around two dozen restaurants. The mall will create around 500 direct and 300 indirect jobs. The company forecasts the centre will have seven million visitors a year from a catchment area of with 418,500 inhabitants.
