Italy's IGD SIIQ is investing a total of EUR 103 mln to acquire two shopping centres in the Sicilian capital of Palermo and in the northern city of Conegliano Veneto, CEO Claudio Albertini told PropertyEU in an interview during the Expo Italia Real Estate Fair in Milan.

The purchases, which were first announced during the company's first-quarter earnings presentation last month, underscores IGD's strategy to invest across the Italian market, he added. 'We expect both centres to be fully leased at opening.'

The schemes were bought from developers Cogei Costruzioni and Coop, and will open their doors later this year.
