Italian shopping centre investor Immobiliare Grande Distribuzione SIIQ (IGD Siiq) has announced the opening of the Cone mall and retail park in Conegliano, near Treviso. The centre, which involves a total investment of over EUR 70 mln, covers a total gross floor area of 27,400 m2 and has 1,550 parking places.
The mall is anchored by an Ipercoop hypermarket and includes a gallery with 59 stores, including five medium-sized interior surfaces, while the retail park consists of three medium-sized retail areas.
While the acquisition of the retail park entails an investment of EUR 14 mln, the purchase of the shopping centre, which is to be completed by the end of 2010, amounts to roughly EUR 57 mln excluding taxes. The seller of the mall is Coop Adriatica Scarl, which owns 41.5% of IGD. The scheme boasts an occupancy rate of 97%, with tenants including Euronics (electronics), Maison Du Monde (furniture), and clothing stores Cisalfa, H&M, Foot Locker, Jack & Jones and Marella.
The ceremony comes shortly after the opening of La Torre shopping mall in Palermo earlier in November. 'This new opening, a few days after the one in Palermo, is part of the expansion strategy that has been adopted over the last few years, which has included six new openings in the past two years,' said Claudio Albertini, CEO of IGD Siiq.
