Global logistics group ID Logistics has opened its first logistics site in the UK, located in Northampton, between Birmingham and London.
The property is part of a logistics services business startup on behalf of an international fast fashion retailer leader.
The initial 18,000 m2 warehouse is entirely dedicated to the return flows of e-commerce and B2B orders, with products subject to fashion trends processed in a very short time in order to be quickly put back on the market.
The new contract extends the existing partnership in Poland through local fashion logistics specialist Spedimex, acquired in May by the ID Logistics Group.
Eric Hémar, CEO of ID Logistics Group, said: ‘We are delighted to open our first site in the UK, an important step in our growth strategy in Europe. This investment demonstrates our commitment to meeting the needs of our large international customers by offering comprehensive coverage of the European market. We look forward to working closely with them and providing high-quality logistics solutions to support their business.’
This move into the UK, the 18th country for ID Logistics, gives the Group an additional opportunity to offer complete European coverage for its international customers, particularly in the fields of consumer goods and e-commerce.
Separately, ID Logistics is also building a 57,000 m2 logistics site in the south of France for retailer Intermarché, which should open before the end of 2023.
