The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has set up its first marketing group in Europe, to be chaired by Jacques Sinke, CEO at Reteam International.

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has set up its first marketing group in Europe, to be chaired by Jacques Sinke, CEO at Reteam International.

The ICSC European Marketing Group will promote best practices and share new ideas on shopping centre marketing. It will also work closely with other specialist ICSC groups to share knowledge, particularly the Retail Asset Management Group, Research Group and Leasing Groups.

‘Professionalism within shopping centre marketing is growing and shopping centre marketers are among the elite in terms of knowledge and use of digital, mobile, social and other new media,’ said Sinke, adding: ‘Such knowledge is absolutely vital for the sustained success of shopping centres and where many in other sectors are slow on the uptake.’

Mike Morrissey, ICSC managing director, said: ‘Marketing within our industry has grown into a key strategic factor of importance. The specialised ICSC European Marketing Group will provide an ongoing platform and network of marketers within the retail real estate industry throughout Europe.’
