ICSC launches first-ever career and rewards survey

ICSC has launched its first-ever career and rewards survey for the European shopping centre industry.

'After a very difficult few years when remunerations have bumped along the bottom, the industry needs insight into the level of activity and recovery in the retail real estate employment market, and to assess the career motivations and intentions of those working within it,' said Sarah Banfield, ICSC senior research analyst in Europe.

The confidential survey will allow companies to look at their own employment packages and learn more about the needs and expectations of those working in the shopping centre industry. It will also allow individuals to benchmark their remuneration against that of their industry peers.

ICSC is working in partnership with Foundation Recruitment, a specialist retail real estate recruitment company.

Managing director Julian Long added: 'As the industry recovers from probably its most difficult period over the last 50 years, this is a very appropriate time to assess and measure the fluidity and mobility of the retail real estate employment market.'

The survey results will be announced at the ICSC European Conference in Istanbul, Turkey, on 2-4 April 2014.
