The International Council of Shopping Centers Europe (ICSC Europe) has released the list of finalists for the 2008 European Shopping Centre Awards. ICSC Europe, which presents awards every year to the best new and refurbished or extended retail developments in Europe, said that 22 shopping centres from 11 countries made the final. These include five centres from the Netherlands and the first, ever centre from Latvia to make the finalists list. The finalists comes from: Netherlands, Belgium, France, Austria, The United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Poland, Spain and Latvia.

From the shortlist of finalists, outstanding schemes are selected as award winners. The 2008 awards will be presented at the 33rd ICSC Europe Conference from 16-18 April 2008 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The award categories are Small New Centres (under 30, 000 m2), Medium New Centres (30, 001 - 45, 000 m2), Large New Centres (45, 001 - 65, 000 m2), Very Large Centres (65, 001m2 +), and Refurbishment and Extensions. In the New Development Small category, the list of finalists consists of:
