French real estate investment trust Icade has signed an agreement to own and develop the new headquarters for service and utility group Veolia in Porte d’Aubervilliers, to the north of Paris.
Icade, a subsidiary of Caisse des Depôts, said it has signed an off-plan lease with Veolia Environnement for the development of a 45,000 m2 head office at Le Millénaire business park.
Veolia Environnement’s new headquarters will group all of the company's historic sites in one complex, due to be delivered in mid-2016.
The building, designed by architect Dietmar Feichtinger and developed by Icade, is targeting HQE and BREEAM certifications. It will house more than 2,000 people.
Icade's CEO Serge Grzybowski said Veolia Environnement’s decision is a further indication of the development of Le Millénaire district, which in the coming months will also benefit from the arrival of new public transport links (extension of metro line 12 and launch of the T3 tramway).
In the recent past, the opening of Le Millénaire shopping centre and the decision by the French Ministry of Justice to relocate some of its offices to this area already strengthened the business profile of the Porte d’Aubervilliers district.
