The scheme will consist of two buildings connected by a bridge and containing a total of 394 residential units, tailored community spaces and a community garden. The project will incorporate the latest in sustainable design and green building technology and will be operated under the Fizz brand. The start of construction is scheduled for early 2022, with completion to take place by the end of 2023.

Rogier Hetterschijt, head of Acquisitions for the Netherlands at IC said: 'The Leiden student market is characterised by a huge shortfall in suitable student housing and the shortages are expected to increase further over the coming years. With this asset we can cater to the high demand for next generation student housing in the City.'

'Although Leiden is only our second student residence in the Netherlands, International Campus is making significant future investments in the Netherlands to address the significant under supply of residential offerings for both students and professionals,' said Michael Stapf, Chief Investment Officer at IC. 'We are also looking at least two other new opportunities in the market, which we hope to announce in the coming months.'
