London law firm Howard Kennedy has added Patrick Keown to its banking and real estate finance team.
Keown is an experienced banking and finance lawyer and advises clients on a broad range of high value and complex debt finance transactions.
He focuses on corporate finance, leveraged finance, real estate finance, asset-based lending, receivables finance, debt restructuring and corporate reorganisations.
Julian Hindmarsh, head of real estate department, said: 'Patrick brings a wealth of experience to our Banking & Real Estate Finance team, and I am delighted to welcome him to the firm.
'Whatever the asset class, our clients are increasingly looking for innovative funding solutions. Patrick’s extensive experience in advising on high value complex finance transactions will increase our growing client base to greater funding opportunities.'
Keown has acted for a wide range of clients including the main UK clearing banks, investment banks, international banks, specialist lenders, institutional investors, asset-based lenders, and corporate borrowers.
His sector experience includes general corporate M&A, natural resources, charities/social enterprise, sporting organisations, social housing, education, development finance, and trade finance.
Keown joins the firm from Bates Wells where he headed its banking and finance practice for eight years. Prior to that, he was a partner at both Freeth Cartwright and Hill Dickinson.
Said Keown: 'I am delighted to be joining Howard Kennedy. It's an ambitious law firm with a strong reputation and an enviable client base.
'As a genuine full-service firm, Howard Kennedy provides an ideal platform for my clients and I look forward to working with and supporting my colleagues across the firm in providing practical and effective legal solutions to the firm's growing client base.'
Keown is the fifth lateral hire to join Howard Kennedy since January this year, following the most recent hire last month of Huseyin Huseyin, who joined the firm's residential development team.
