Kildea was previously finance director for the London-based company, which owns 92 acres of property in the city's Marylebone district, including medical, office, retail and leisure, education and residential assets.

Howard de Walden’s chief executive, Andrew Hynard, said: 'The scope of the business’s operations continue to evolve and Mark’s new title is in recognition of his wider responsibilities including sustainability, health and safety, insurance, IT and procurement.

'As COO, his role will also encompass his previous core finance director responsibilities.'

Kildea has been with the business for almost nine years and was previously group treasurer at Capital Shopping Centres, now Intu.

Kildea said: 'The Howard de Walden Estate operates in a diverse and dynamic environment which requires expertise across a wide range of specialisms.

'I’m looking forward to working with all our teams to deliver strategies which focus on the enhancement of this unique area of London.'
