During her time with CBRE Global Investors, she has served as CIO – Americas direct real estate strategies and helped build and lead one of the firm’s flagship funds. Hourihan will succeed Jeremy Plummer, who has decided to retire at the end of the year after a near 40-year career.

As Global CIO, Hourihan will be responsible for all real assets investment strategies globally, driving the firm’s portfolio management functions and helping formulate and incorporate the firm’s investment market house views. She will chair the firm’s global investment committee and continues as an executive committee member and co-chair of the global diversity, equity & inclusion council.

Key promotions and appointments within Hourihan's team include the addition of Julie Ingersoll as CIO – Americas direct real estate strategies. Ingersoll joins from CPP Investments, where she was managing director overseeing portfolio strategy design and execution for US residential and retail investments.

She was previously CEO & COO of RREEF Property Trust and held senior positions at DWS. Based in New York, Ingersoll will join as of 1 January.

Larissa Belova has been promoted to portfolio manager for one of the firm’s US core strategies, effective immediately. This reflects a strategic succession plan that began when she joined two years ago as deputy portfolio manager.

Chuck Leitner, CEO of CBRE Global Investors, said: 'Kim is an inspiring colleague and investor who is very well placed to replicate her successes and drive our ability to deliver sustainable real assets investment performance across our full global platform.

'As we look ahead, I thank Jeremy for his exceptional contributions to our firm and wish him all the success in his next chapter. These executive appointments reflect a thoughtful, proactive succession strategy and commitment to invest in top professionals, balancing high-caliber external expertise with talented executives at our firm.'
